A few weeks ago on a taping of the Oprah Winfrey show, a gentlemen was a top executive for Microsoft and he decided to leave his job to get into volunteer work. This was amazing since he was earning a lot of money from his work and there was no real reason for him to leave his present line of work. However, something motivated him inside to leave his high end position.

You may be asking yourself that this is something crazy. However, when a man or a woman reaches the age of 35, something drastically happens. They begin to understand that your work situation is making you either happy or sad. If it’s making you sad, then the first thing that you want to do is to run away from it. It is important to fully comprehend that a job change may be what you need, but there is no such thing as “the perfect job”. This simply is not possible. We would like to think of our lives as being completely whole and sound. However, we often forget that we are only human and that we all do make mistakes. It is important to grow with an understanding of ourselves a whole lot more and to fully realize that we are not alone and that we have a lot to offer others. However, every job in this life will get us bored at some point or another.

Sometimes people leave their high end jobs to do volunteer work and then find out that it wasn’t so great after all. It’s important for you to make an important career decision when you leave one situation and go to another. Allowing yourself to fully understand your job is the only way in which you can honestly ask yourself the most important questions in your life. Ask yourself why you are doing what you are now doing and how you are actually going to go into the world and make it better.

When you feel more whole and sound, you actually begin to grow and you begin to learn more about life. Remember that a job is never going to make you happy. It can only give you temporary fulfillment and eventually you will get bored and tired of doing the same old thing over and over again. When you begin to feel tired of what you are doing, then it’s definitely time to add some fun into your life. A long vacation or a temporary leave of absence will usually do the trick. This will help you to grow and to understand yourself a whole lot more.
